End of chapter.
The next chapter cover will go up on saturday. undecided about taking a break, I'll let you know then! Also probably post some of the fan art/exchanges I've had since the last time i posted 'em.
This was a beautiful page to leave a cliffhanger on! I love the first panel with Dylan and Suit Jerry framing the middle of the panel. Great composition work.
I also liked how you used it to open the page with white! That's a really smart design choice.
Dylan's smile is both unnerving and sad :(
You should take a break Moth! You deserve a lot of it! (also so excited to see all the cool fan art and art trades!)
You beat me to it!
Yep! This is such a tragic eff-up on so many levels and very well executed. Imagine that back than you thought Dylan closed that chapter by throwing the keys away and everything should have ended there and then. Fast-forward two years later (real time) and we are actually at a point when Dylan is about to jump as well. Wow.
Damn. Weird thing is that whether Dylan survives, is saved by somebody (who knew everything) or actually dies... all of those could work right now. It would leave the mystery probably open but this is Dylan's story first and foremost.
Good job Moth :D
One more thing. It is like his biggest demon finally caught up with him.
"I will help you do those things... You are just too weak to do."
But in the stupidest moment possible. That partially it was him who was weak and not everything was Jerry's fault.
Oh, I said the same thing last page (ofc I forgot to log in, because why not) and I'd definitely love to see Raining Knives becoming a buddy cop series (except Dyl&Jerry are dead and not cops at all). I totally see them helping other ghosts find out how they died or something lol, Jerry being the brave detective and Dylan his grumpy and reasonable sidekick.
In all seriousness though, this is one of the things I love about this comic the most - the story can have like a hundred possible endings and each of them is as plausible and as good c:
"I totally see them helping other ghosts find out how they died or something"
It is a stretch but maybe you want to check out Requiem from the Darkness or Paranoia Agent. Not necessarily what you have in mind but both deal with ghosts and supernatural that might be something else entirely... Kinda like what I think Suit Jerry might be.
I hope next stop is the hospital, haha. I do not mean a normal hospital mind you.
Also... That is an interesting thought. My only issue with that is it would remove any responsibility from Dylan and simply cancel all stakes. I think he needs to be physically present to solve the mystery unless somebody else takes over with Dylan as their ghost. Huh.

ah thank you! I have that down as 'An errie smile comes over Dylan' in my script :p
I was gonna take a break to work on the AU story thing but it turns out I'm enjoying this too much right now ha
Omar
Suit Jerry's smile on that first panel is so creepy! I like it.
:0
Edit: Dylan and Jerry have the same smile, (obviously) but under these circumstances it's just sad.
Moth
Thanks! SJ's expressions have been a blast these past few pages!

"Good-bye, Dylan"

The next chapter will either entirely be Dylan's fall in slow-mo (or perhaps it's just a very tall cliff?)...
...or every panel will be Dylan sitting in a prison cell, getting increasingly bored.
Moth
just entirely flashbacks as his life flashes before his eyes then he wakes up and it was all a dream

Had a comment on tapas suggesting Dylan's death wouldn't necessarily stop him solving the mystery!
ghost bros

Ah that's probably the comment I was thinking of, I get messed up so easily haha

The way you spaced out these panels is so darn good, Moth. Man, Dylan should have brought an umbrella so it could help slow his fall.
Moth
Mary Poppins that shit and fly awayyyy
Jackarais
This is a very good couple of pages
Moth

I was looking forward to posting these for a while!
Spellodello
This is such a good sequence. AND I'M REALLY MAD THAT'S WHAT HIS SMILE IS FOR. YOU MEANIE.
aaaAAa. So good, Moth.
Moth
HAAHAH
the saddest smile
Thank you spell!!
The Doodler
Does it sound really weird and messed up that my kneejerk reaction to Dylan jamming Other Dylan is to admire it? (Yeah, probably, but there you are.)
Moth
I get it, it's kind of him saying no to becoming a monster. He's finally standing up to the bad side of him just in an... unfortunate way.
Rad
The first time he smiles and it's a sad one :(
Moth
he's given a couple of sad smiles before! maybe some day it'll reach his eyes
Bolderousness
*At the hospital*
Chris: Hey bud. You awake?
Dylan: Uuuugh
Chris: Dude what happened? Why'd we find you below the cliff?
Dylan: I was uh... dolphin diving... For sport.
Moth
you know chris would just shrug and accept it
Bolderousness
The perfect accomplice.
