This scene gets so awkward it was almost painful to draw.

Is that Cail in the photos with the Undertaker's Daughter?

Also, dang Dylan, you have no subtlety.

And $5 says that's Dapper Jerry behind Undertaker's Daughter.

Edit: On the last page I theorized in response to MadJack91 that the Black Roses might be able to disrupt Dapper Jerry… since Dylan is in possession of a rose in this scene… I take that $5 back and put it down on Ghost Jerry instead.

I have a huge urge to SHIP tbh... lmao

Huh. She says she does not believe on ghosts but probably does in another way or has some other explanation. She does not act exactly as normal person would: "Dylan, what? You drunk?"
That sort of thing :D
So I guess even if she does not believe, she believes Dylan can see or sense something. Or that he really went insane...

Also, is this not like a big screw up on his part? Someone like her can start suspecting things easily. In case she knows more about the phenomenon then might as well say it is because he did something.
I mean, if she were to ask "Did you kill him?" I doubt even Dylan would come up with the right emotion and tone of his lie on spot.
I think he is pushing it with these questions.

She has no reason to be suspicious yet that I am aware of, and it is not completely uncommon for survivors to claim they have seen their deceased loved one after their funeral, sometimes even quite some time after it. The phenomenon is well enough known that it is a trope in movies and TV shows (at least in the USA), so most likely she will think Dylan is grieving because he loved his twin brother. How he proceeds could work for or against that assumption though, so it'll be interesting to see how he continues the conversation.

Ya, that is a good point. In Dylan's case however, he met her a few times and previously looked really calm about it.
Sure, to other people it could be a phase and now it sunk in and he misses his bro.
If anything, he needs to be careful how he plays this because it might start showing his guilty conscience to the more perceptive friends.

True, but guilt is a normal emotional response even when you're not responsible for someone's death. There's survivor's guilt, not stopping his brother from going to the party guilt, not being a better sibling when his brother was alive guilt, and "why don't I feel/show grief the 'right' way?" guilt.

Given his current grasp on reality and the suggestions he doesn't remember that event accurately, I'm wondering if his memory of killing his brother is a manifestation of his guilt for not leaving in time to save his brother, possibly combined with whatever he did see and repress because of the trauma.

It is a possibility. There are quite a few accidents like the stairs accident and their Mom dying in the hospital.
And it is possible Dylan blamed himself or read the events wrong in his mind and created quite a few fake events he either caused or caused indirectly.

With the recent pages since this one, it is true that Dylan is actually working on the case and it makes you wonder if he even had anything to do with the murder. Hm.

I love Dylan's expression in panel 8.

He's looking pretty desperate!

Oh that's quite a thing to say, though I'd be surprised if she hasn't heard it before.

Hmmm hopefully she knows how to help!

I guess it depends on if her name is Janine Melnitz or not.

I'm particularly fond of her interview of Winston and his response:

Janine: "Do you believe in UFOs, astral projections, mental telepathy, ESP, clairvoyance, spirit photography, telekinetic movement, full trance mediums, the Loch Ness monster and the theory of Atlantis?"

Winston: "Ah, if there's a steady paycheck in it, I'll believe anything you say."

Winston is the best. A true working man's working man. :D
